A frozen world. A moving train. A hidden identity.
Find the immune — before they find you.
Donmuş bir dünya. Hareket eden bir tren. Gizli bir kimlik.
Bağışıklıları bul — onlar seni bulmadan önce.
In a frozen world where humanity survives by constantly traveling across a global railway network, you are a secret State agent — one of the last few. Take survivors aboard, watch them through the night, and question them. Some are immune. Some are something else, learning to wear a human face.
Observe passengers through the night. Question them. Decide who to trust — knowing you can never be sure.
Yolcuları gece boyunca gözle. Sorgula. Kime güveneceğine karar ver — asla emin olamayacağını bilerek.
Manage coal, ammo and a failing engine. Stop moving and you die.
Kömürü, mermiyi ve yıpranan motoru yönet. Durursan ölürsün.
Clear frozen stations, pick locks, take what you can — and take survivors in a hurry.
Donmuş istasyonları temizle, kilit kır, alabildiğini al — ve acele içinde yolcu al.
Your train is your home, lab and prison. Keep it running, keep it quiet.
Tren evin, laboratuvarın ve hapishanen. Çalışır tut, sessiz tut.
Three nested loops. The night loop is the heart of the game — the journey keeps you alive, the stations feed you, but the nights decide everything.
İç içe üç döngü. Gece döngüsü oyunun kalbidir — yolculuk seni hayatta tutar, istasyonlar seni besler, ama her şeye geceler karar verir.
Your train is home, lab, farm, workshop and prison all at once. Three wagons. Six passenger rooms. One long corridor. And an incinerator for disposal.
The engine is old. The boiler wears down with every trip, and the snow doesn't wait: closed lines fill in from behind. Upgrade the snow plow to open buried rails — or accept that some stations are gone forever.
And remember: the evolved ones attack from inside. A wagon can blow. Listen for the small signs — strange sounds, a door left open, a smell that wasn't there yesterday.
Ve unutma: evrimleşmiş olanlar içeriden saldırır. Bir vagon patlayabilir. Küçük işaretlere kulak ver — garip sesler, açık bırakılmış bir kapı, dün olmayan bir koku.
You are always in a hurry at stations; you take passengers in without asking questions. Every passenger is an asset and a risk. No stat screens will save you — what matters is the night journal: what they said, where they stood, whether they slept. And strange behavior does not always mean monster.
İstasyonlarda her zaman acele içindesin; insanları soru sormadan trene alırsın. Her yolcu hem varlık hem risktir. Seni hiçbir stat ekranı kurtarmaz — önemli olan gece günlüğüdür: ne söyledi, nerede duruyordu, uyudu mu. Ve garip davranış her zaman canavar anlamına gelmez.
In the beginning the questions are simple. Where were you? Are you immune? Then something happens on the train, and the questions change. The stages advance with story events, not the day counter.
Başta sorular basit. Neredeydin?
These are not the risen dead. The cold broke living minds — animals and people. Then the broken minds learned. Some now speak. Some sleep, or pretend to. Some build things — like a bomb in a wagon.
Bunlar dirilmiş ölüler değil. Soğuk, yaşayan zihinleri kırdı — hayvanları ve insanları. Sonra kırık zihinler öğrendi. Bazıları artık konuşuyor. Bazıları uyuyor — ya da uyuyor gibi yapıyor. Bazıları bir şeyler kuruyor — mesela bir vagonda bomba.
Mindless, aggressive, loud. Predictable.
Beyinsiz, saldırgan, sesli. Öngörülebilir.
Hides. Opens doors. Waits for you.
Gizlenir. Kapıları açar. Seni bekler.
Moves like a human. Forms simple sentences.
İnsan gibi hareket eder. Basit cümleler kurar.
Talks. Pretends to sleep. Copies routines.
Konuşur. Uyur gibi yapar. Rutin kopyalar.
Plans. Blows up wagons from inside.
Plan yapar. Vagonları içeriden patlatır.
As they evolve, detection signs decay — the eye test that worked on day 10 is worthless on day 60. Old methods expire. You must keep learning new ones. There is always a clue; it is just never clean. Evrimleştikçe tespit işaretleri eskir — 10. günde işe yarayan göz testi 60. günde değersizdir. Eski yöntemlerin ömrü dolar. Sürekli yenisini öğrenmek zorundasın. İpucu her zaman vardır; sadece asla temiz değildir.
Five to ten agents were sent down the lines. The radio keeps count — by going silent. Their tips may save you. Or they may not be theirs at all.
Hatlara beş ila on ajan gönderildi. Telsiz saymayı sessizleşerek yapıyor. İpuçları seni kurtarabilir. Ya da onların olmayabilir.
Every silence on the radio is a number going down.
Telsizdeki her sessizlik, azalan bir sayıdır.
"Eyes. Look at the eyes. That's where you'll know."
"Gözlerine bak. Anlayacağın yer orası."
"Left you something at the next stop. Bullets. Don't waste them."
"Bir sonraki durakta sana bir şey bıraktım. Mermi. Boşa harcama."
"Day 41. Door 3 was open again. I didn't hear it. If you read this, don't trust
"41. gün. 3 numaralı kapı yine açıktı. Duymadım. Bunu okuyorsan, güvenme
"All clear on my line. Come in. Come in." (the voice is too smooth, too calm)
"Hattımda sorun yok. Gel. Gel." (sesi fazla düzgün, fazla sakin)
Code words, writing style, broadcast hour, voice quality — small signs hint at reliability. But those can be imitated too. In story mode the radio is your main intelligence channel; dead agents' last notes tell the rest. Agent caches at stations arrive with Loop Mode. Kod kelimesi, yazı stili, yayın saati, ses kalitesi — küçük işaretler güvenilirliği sezdirir. Ama onlar da taklit edilebilir. Hikaye modunda radyo ana istihbarat kanalındır; ölen ajanların son notları gerisini anlatır. Ajanların istasyonlara malzeme bırakması Döngü Modu ile gelecek.
The horror is not monsters. The horror is uncertainty. You are sleeping a few rooms away from people who may not be human. And you will never be completely sure.
Korku canavarlar değil. Korku belirsizliktir. İnsan olmayabilecek insanlardan birkaç oda ötede uyuyorsun. Ve hiçbir zaman tamamen emin olamazsın.
The train felt like home at first.
Now it feels like a box.
A box with something inside it
that is wearing a human face.
Başta tren gibi bir evdi.
Şimdi bir kutu gibi hissettiriyor.
İçinde bir şeyin olduğu bir kutu.
İnsan yüzü takan bir şeyin.
The stations are the side loop — quick, violent, profitable. Zombies are not the main resource; they are the entry fee. They drop bullets and items, but the real prize is behind locked doors, inside locked chests, and standing among the survivors.
Hand over suspects, collect rewards and intelligence, buy and sell passengers. Checkpoints. Demands.
Şüphelileri teslim et, ödül ve istihbarat al, yolcu al-sat. Kontrol noktaları. Talepler.
Doors sealed, full of the infected. Open it, clear it, loot it. The best chests hide here.
Kapıları kapalı, zombi dolu. Aç, temizle, yağmala. En iyi sandıklar burada saklanır.
Trade, rumors, survivors. The place to find passengers — and to be found.
Ticaret, söylentiler, hayatta kalanlar. Yolcu bulunacak yer — ve bulunacağın yer.
Slots 11–20. They open and close with the narrative. Some appear once — and never again.
11–20 arası slotlar. Hikayeyle açılıp kapanır. Bazıları bir kez görünür — bir daha asla.
| Station Type | Early Game | Late Game | İstasyon Tipi | Erken Oyun | Geç Oyun |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Small station | 1 – 3 | 10 – 15 | Küçük istasyon | 1 – 3 | 10 – 15 |
| Medium station * | 5 – 8 | 15 – 25 | Orta istasyon * | 5 – 8 | 15 – 25 |
| Large station | 10 – 15 | 25 – 40 * | Büyük istasyon | 10 – 15 | 25 – 40 * |
* Placeholder values, tuned in playtests. Fixed rules: small starts 1–3 and grows to 10–15; large starts directly at 10–15. The count is random per entry and refills on return visits. Since zombies are now a side resource, consider lowering these numbers overall so raids never outweigh the nights.
Locks: the best loot is always locked. Buy lockpicks, find them, or craft them in the workshop with a mechanic aboard. Station layouts are fixed; contents shift between visits — 10 base stations × ~5 handmade variants ≈ 50 levels (see the design doc below). Kilitler: en iyi ganimet her zaman kilitlidir.
The State still exists — on rails, like everyone else. It pays well, asks much, and the longer the winter lasts, the harder its hand becomes.
Deliver suspects as test subjects. Payment: bullets, coal, spare parts — and intelligence that narrows the search for the immune. Deliver the wrong people, and you carry it.
Şüphelileri denek olarak teslim et. Ödeme: mermi, kömür, yedek parça — ve bağışıklı aramasını daraltan istihbarat. Yanlış insanları teslim edersen, vicdanında taşırsın.
State stations can demand passengers from you — quotas that grow with martial law. Saying no has a price. Saying yes might too.
The State sells cheap labor: people with dark pasts. High risk, high reward — and one more stranger sleeping in your corridor.
Arrive at a checkpoint with nothing to hand over, and the State collects its due another way. (Exact consequence: open design question.)
Kontrol noktasına teslim edecek hiçbir şeyle gelmezsen, Devlet alacağını başka yoldan tahsil eder. (Tam sonucu: açık tasarım sorusu.)
The mission: deliver 10 immune people, cumulatively, before the clock runs out. The train has six rooms — you can't carry them all at once. You deliver them in batches, and the counter climbs. Or it doesn't.
Görev: süre dolmadan, kümülatif olarak 10 bağışıklı insan teslim etmek. Trende altı oda var — hepsini aynı anda taşıyamazsın. Partiler halinde teslim edersin ve sayaç yükselir. Ya da yükselmez.
Good ending. The vaccine program begins. The Iron Winter finally has an end date. The tone shifts with how many you actually delivered — full triumph or a thin, costly hope.
Bad ending. If you die, the mission dies with you. There is no second agent.
Kötü final. Ölürsen görev de seninle ölür. İkinci bir ajan yok.
Bad ending. Wagon blasts (sabotage) cost you wagons and people — the boiler blast costs you the game. Two different systems; only one is final.
Kötü final. Vagon patlamaları (sabotaj) sana vagon ve insan kaybettirir — kazan patlaması oyunu kaybettirir. İki ayrı sistem; sadece biri finaldir.
Bad ending. The Center closes the line and recalls what's left. You survive — but the world doesn't.
Kötü final. Merkez hattı kapatır ve kalanları geri çeker. Sen hayatta kalırsın — ama dünya kalmaz.
Everything in one place, nothing summarized: the complete story, all endings, the full gameplay loops, the Early Access scope, the level design plan — and the open questions still waiting for a decision.
Her şey tek yerde, özet geçmeden: tam hikaye, tüm finaller, eksiksiz oynanış döngüleri, Erken Erişim kapsamı, seviye tasarım planı — ve hâlâ karar bekleyen açık sorular.
The apocalypse did not come in a single night. The world froze slowly. As temperatures fell, the cities went silent one by one, and the seas turned to ice from their shores inward. But the cold was not the true catastrophe — the true catastrophe was the transformation that came with it. These are not risen dead: the cold broke the minds of the living — animals and people alike — and turned them into something mindless and hungry. "Zombie" is just the convenient word. Humanity learned one truth: staying still is death. With its last strength, the State kept the continental railway network alive. Trains became homes, farms, laboratories and workshops. The stations became the frozen tombs of the old world — and something still walks inside them. And some of those things have started to learn.
To anyone watching, you are an ordinary train captain: a trader hauling goods between stations, picking up passengers, surviving like everyone else. In reality you are a covert agent of the State — trained as a scientist in the Center's laboratories, and one of only 5–10 agents left in the field. Your identity can never be revealed; no one on your train knows what you are. Every passenger you take aboard is three things at once: labor for your train, an asset for your economy, and a potential immune — or a potential threat. The number of agents shrinks as the game goes on. You hear it happen on the radio, one silence at a time.
Gerçekte Devlet'in gizli ajanısın — Merkez'in laboratuvarlarında bilim insanı olarak eğitildin ve sahada kalan 5–10 ajandan birisin.
The Center's directive is precise: somewhere along these lines live people with natural immunity to the plague — the last hope of the vaccine program. Your target: find and deliver at least 10 of them. The train has only six rooms, so the goal works cumulatively: you deliver the immune in batches at State stations, and each delivery raises the counter. The clock says 100 days. This is why you hurry at stations and never interrogate on the platform — you take people fast, screen them at night, hand your suspects to the State as test subjects, and in return receive bullets, coal, parts and intelligence that narrows the search. Hand over the right people and the circle tightens. Hand over the wrong ones, and you carry that too.
❓ Open: with a target of 10 immune, the 100-day pacing needs a re-check — more days, or higher immune density? (See Open Questions.)
❓ Açık: hedef 10 bağışıklı olunca 100 günlük ritim yeniden kontrol edilmeli — gün mü artmalı, bağışıklı yoğunluğu mu? (Açık Sorular'a bak.)
The main gameplay is inside the train: observe passengers, interrogate them at night, decide who to trust. Station raids are the side dish — zombies, locks, loot, recruits. Trading exists but stays secondary; illegal goods and police inspections may be cut from Early Access entirely for scope control.
Each night grants 2 wake windows. Observation and interrogation happen only in these windows, only on the train. Attention is a resource — you can't watch every door. The radio crackles between the windows; some of what it says is true. In the morning, something has changed: a blast, a disappearance, an attack, or nothing at all — which is its own kind of dread.
Her gece 2 uyanma penceresi verir.
The test starts as a simple Stage-1 question, but it must never give verdicts: it costs resources (ammo, medicine, coal, time), takes a full night, is limited in uses, and carries a false-positive / false-negative margin. The result reads as "probably immune" — never as certainty. Certainty doesn't exist in this game.
The old 4-stat star system stole focus from the investigation, so it was simplified: passengers carry at most one or two tags (Mechanic, Doctor, Farmer) that give small economic benefits — lockpick crafting, engine repair, healing, food. Tags never solve the investigation. What matters is the night journal. Passengers leave the train in five ways: they die on the job, get handed to the State, give the wrong answer at night, die in a blast — or turn, and come for you.
Eski 4 statlı yıldız sistemi odağı soruşturmadan çalıyordu, bu yüzden sadeleştirildi: yolcular en fazla bir-iki etiket taşır (Tamirci, Doktor, Çiftçi) ve bunlar küçük ekonomik faydalar verir — lockpick üretimi, motor tamiri, iyileştirme, yiyecek. Etiketler soruşturmayı asla çözmez. Önemli olan gece günlüğüdür. Yolcular trenden beş şekilde ayrılır: görevde ölürler, Devlet'e verilirler, gece yanlış cevap verirler, patlamada ölürler — ya da dönüşüp üstüne gelirler.
The currency is bullets. Every round fired at a zombie is money leaving your pocket — that is why you count your ammo. Melee is risky but free; shooting is safe but expensive. Combat and economy share one resource, so every fight is a spending decision: is this zombie worth two bullets, or a scar? Supply: zombie drops, State rewards, agent supply drops, locked chests.
You always choose the route, but the map does not wait. An avalanche buries a line; the State quarantines a region; a story event opens a station that was never on your map — or erases one you were counting on. Closed lines fill in from behind: some stations can never be revisited. The snow plow is an upgrade path (suggested: Lv1 light snow → Lv2 avalanches and ice → Lv3 reopens closed lines). Two players on the same save will not see the same railway twice.
🛠️ Production advice: prototype only the night loop first — 5–6 passengers, a few nights. If that's fun, everything else stacks on top. If it isn't, no other system will save the game.
🛠️ Üretim tavsiyesi: önce sadece gece döngüsünü prototiple — 5–6 yolcu, birkaç gece. O eğlenceliyse geri kalan her şey üstüne biner. Değilse, hiçbir sistem oyunu kurtarmaz.
After the story: an endless mode. No 100-day clock — just survival, scaling zombies, a shifting map. This is where the agent cache system arrives: agents leave notes, telegrams, bullets and supplies at stations. The agent count still dwindles; their messages come as things left behind instead of broadcasts.
Hikayeden sonra: sonsuz mod. 100 günlük saat yok — sadece hayatta kalma, ölçeklenen zombiler, değişen harita. Ajan bırakma sistemi buraya gelir: ajanlar istasyonlara not, telgraf, mermi ve malzeme bırakır.
Stations have a fixed general layout — Station 1 is always recognizably Station 1 — but the contents shift between visits: chest locations, door states (open / locked), and spawn points. Two approaches were considered:
İstasyonların genel şeması sabittir — 1 numaralı istasyon her zaman tanınır şekilde 1 numaralı istasyondur — ama içerik ziyaretler arasında değişir: sandık yerleri, kapı durumları (açık / kilitli) ve spawn noktaları. İki yöntem değerlendirildi:
One scene per station; code shuffles chests, doors and spawns at load. Flexible, but code-heavy: spawn systems, validity checks, a long tail of procedural bugs. Overkill for Early Access. Rejected.
İstasyon başına tek sahne; kod yükleme anında sandıkları, kapıları, spawn'ları karıştırır. Esnek ama kod ağır: spawn sistemleri, geçerlilik kontrolleri, bitmeyen prosedürel bug kuyruğu. Erken Erişim için gereksiz yük. Reddedildi.
Build 10 base stations; from each, hand-make ~5 copy-paste variants (move doors, relocate chests, adjust spawns). Result: ~50 handmade levels; the game loads a random variant per visit. No procedural code, every variant hand-testable. Chosen.
10 temel istasyon yap; her birinden elle ~5 kopya varyant çıkar (kapıları taşı, sandıkları kaydır, spawn'ları ayarla). Sonuç: ~50 el yapımı seviye; oyun her ziyarette rastgele bir varyant yükler. Prosedürel kod yok, her varyant elle test edilebilir. Seçildi.
💡 The math fits: 10 base × 5 variants matches the 10–20 station EA target — ~50 distinct visit experiences for the cost of 10 layouts. Slots 11–20 stay reserved for story stations that open and close with the narrative.
💡 Matematik oturuyor: 10 temel × 5 varyant, 10–20 istasyonluk EA hedefiyle örtüşüyor — 10 şema maliyetiyle ~50 farklı ziyaret deneyimi. 11–20 slotları, hikayeyle açılıp kapanan hikaye istasyonlarına ayrılmış durumda.
The decision is made: the game is called IRON WINTER. The other candidates are kept below for the record.
Karar verildi: oyunun adı IRON WINTER. Diğer adaylar kayıt olarak aşağıda duruyor.
Cold steel, railway iron, and a brutal endless winter. Doubles as the name of the world itself — the era survivors live in is called the Iron Winter.
"Manifest" means both a passenger list and a declaration — a perfect nod to the secret agent screening his passengers. Kept as a possible chapter / expansion title.
"Manifest" hem yolcu listesi hem bildiri demek — yolcularını eleyen gizli ajana mükemmel gönderme. Olası bir bölüm / genişleme adı olarak saklandı.
The original working title of the concept. Retired, but it may live on as the name of a quest, a song, or the prologue chapter.
